The original DS7AP-DP probes featured two parallel 70mm insulated tips, with only a 1mm uninsulated section and a 0.5mm gap between tips. Some surgeons found this narrow spacing challenging, often manually widening the gap before surgery.
The updated DS7AP-DP2 probe addresses this by increasing the separation to 1mm and extending the uninsulated tip length to 2mm, improving current flow and reducing tip impedance.
